Our ingredients are locally sourced
Wherever possible our ingredients are sourced in and around the Cotswolds as we are passionate about supporting British Agriculture.
British Meat is sourced as locally as possible and different farmers and butchers are used for their speciality of products. Our Piggys, Lamb and Chickens tend to come from the Cotswolds.
The cream, butter and milk is made down in Church Hanborough from local Jersey Cows which is oozing with rich, deep golden flavours!
Our Eggs are from New Yatt and are from happy roaming free range chickens while our Smoked Trout, Gravadlax and Salmon is made at the Upton Smokery near Burford.
Our ingredients are seasonal.
Seasonal rhubarb for making that irresistible Crumble or perhaps a Cheesecake with a hint of Ginger. Asparagus with warm melted Butter perfect and natural! Or try the Crayfish caught in the rivers local to Long hanborough. All other fish and shell fish is caught off our coastal waters.
Our food is tasty
Freshly picked tasty Tomatoes or delicious English Strawberries, home-made Jams for the perfect Cream Tea, food with flavour thats why we try to go back to the basics, wholesome, rustic food with colour and most importantly with taste!
We have wonderful Artisan Breads some made by ourselves and others by a long standing family Baker in Carterton including gluten free, olive, tomato, rye, walnut and many more. Combine the smell and flavour with some local Butter or some Balsamic or Olive Oil or Extra Virgin Rape Seed Oil again made in the Cotswolds a sure winning formula!
